Procedure for new Learner License in Madhya Pradesh

Documents Required

The following documents have to be submitted at the Transport Zonal Office in Madhya Pradesh to be qualified for the licence:

  • Age proof (birth certificate, school certificate)
  • Three recent passport size photos
  • Proof of residence (Aadhaar card, passport, utility bills)

Applications in Form 1, Form 1A [Medical Certificates as issued by any M.B.B.S. doctor] and Form 2. These Forms are available on the official portal and can be downloaded from there.

  • Three recent passport size photographs.
  • Proof of residing address and date of birth through any one of the following documents:
  • School Leaving Certificate
  • Birth Certificate Ration Card
  • Passport Electricity
  • Telephone Bill
  • House Tax Receipt Pay slip issued by any office in the Central
  • Government or a local body Get the copy of the document attested by a Gazette officer of the central
  • State government or a local body


In Person

The applicant can visit the nearest RTO and fill in the required forms and submit the documents. Once the documents are verified and fees deposited, the applicant will be called to give a preliminary test. If the applicant passes the test, learner’s licence will be issued. In case of failure, the applicant will be asked to come a week later to appear for the theory test.


  • Visit the official website of the Madhya Pradesh Regional Transport Office to apply for learner driver licence. Here
  • Select the appropriate form and slots. Fill in the form correctly with required details, along with the slot for the theory test.
  1. Select your nearest RTO office in Madhya Pradesh where you can visit to join the appointment schedule to get learner’s licence in MP.
  2. Write your full name (first / middle / last)
  3. Your contact details with phone number and mail id
  4. Select the relationship type from given list
  5. Write your father’s name
  6. Fill your compete address with city, district and pin code
  7. Fill your qualification along with dob and gender
  8. Select your blood group, and body id marks
  9. Enter the amount of fees which you had submitted
  10. Select the class of vehicle for which you want to get the learner’s license
  • Confirm if all details have been filled exactly, with correct spellings and then go to the payment gateway. Pay the required fees according to the vehicle category. Payment can be done through net banking, credit or debit card.
  • On payment, a reference number will be generated, which can be used for future reference.
  • Fee of Rs. 30/- for the category of vehicle applied.
